– Spend the day with feathers! In the morning you will design a
feather border specific to your quilt. Learn tips and techniques
for your personal design. In the afternoon you will be quilting
YOUR design. Information on stippling and other background
techniques. Confident beginner/Intermediate. 6 hours.
Designing Feather Borders
– Learn to design graceful feather borders specific to your
project. Simple tools and techniques to make the process
easier. Marking and quilting techniques are covered but no sewing
is done in this class. Suitable for both hand and machine
quilters. Beginner and beyond. 3 hours.
Trapunto With Your Machine
– Trapunto can add surface interest to your quilting. Learn to
choose appropriate designs. Thread, batting and background
choices for successful work will be covered. Working on a small
piece will let you get your questions answered. Confident
beginner (free motion experience helpful). 3 hours.
Choosing Quilting Designs
– Learn how to analyze a top and choose quilting designs based on style
and proportion. Marking, thread and batting choices will be
covered. Learn the process which helps make your quilt the best
it can be. Suitable for both hand and machine quilters. No
sewing in class. 3 hours.
Successful Stippling
– Everyone loves the look of background stippling. Tips and
techniques for improving your work. Tension, thread and batting
choices are discussed. Work on a small quilt or a practice piece
to improve your technique. Free motion experience necessary for
success. 3 hours.
